Job Description

Dermatology Registered Nurse

\n

Dermatology Practice | Part-time | New York, NY

\n

\n

We are seeking an exceptional Dermatology Registered Nurse to join our team in Lower Manhattan as we build a new dermatology practice providing high-quality, physician-led care in an elevated, highly personalized setting. The practice will combine medical excellence, innovative technology, and an exceptional patient experience designed for a discerning clientele.

\n

We are looking for an experienced RN with a background in dermatology, procedural medicine, or a related specialty. Experience in a high-end dermatology, plastic surgery, cosmetic medicine, concierge medical, or luxury hospitality environment is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate has worked in a private practice, is comfortable supporting medical and cosmetic dermatology care, and is ready to contribute from day one.

\n

\n

You will work closely with a board-certified dermatologist, support clinical care and patient flow under the physician’s direction, and help shape the standards of a growing practice. This is primarily a hands-on clinical support and nursing role—not an injector-track or exclusively procedure-focused position. The RN must be comfortable assisting the physician, following clearly assigned responsibilities, and contributing to all aspects of clinical operations, including room preparation, turnover, stocking, and maintaining an exceptionally clean and organized environment.

\n

The role is expected to include the performance of a select, limited group of procedures delegated by the physician. These may include treatments using advanced lasers, energy-based technologies, and other innovative devices. Each delegated procedure will be specifically designated by the physician and performed only after the RN has completed the required training, demonstrated competency, and satisfied applicable legal, safety, supervision, and practice-protocol requirements.

\n

\n

Although the practice offers meaningful exposure to cutting-edge technologies, this is not a general cosmetic-procedure or injector-training position. This position does not include a defined pathway for training to perform neurotoxin or dermal filler injections. Candidates principally seeking an opportunity to become a cosmetic injector, or whose primary interest is performing procedures rather than providing comprehensive nursing and physician support, will not be a fit for this role.

\n

This is a long-term role for someone building a career in physician-led dermatology and cosmetic medicine who values excellent nursing care, careful execution, teamwork, discretion, elevated service, and clearly defined clinical responsibilities.

\n

Responsibilities

\n
    \n
  • Provide post-procedure care and patient education in accordance with physician instructions and practice protocols
  • \n
  • Coordinate laboratory, pathology, prior authorizations, and follow-up care
  • \n
  • Triage patient calls and messages, document accurately, follow established protocols, and escalate clinical concerns promptly and appropriately
  • \n
  • Assist the physician during medical and cosmetic dermatology procedures
  • \n
  • Administer medications and injections within RN scope of practice, pursuant to physician orders and established practice protocols
  • \n
  • Perform clinical photography and maintain accurate EMR documentation
  • \n
  • Help coordinate the clinical team and support consistent implementation of physician-directed workflows
  • \n
  • Oversee treatment rooms, supplies, medications, and equipment, including inventory and sterilization standards
  • \n
  • Prepare, clean, turn over, restock, and maintain treatment rooms as part of the daily clinical workflow
  • \n
  • Help develop clinical protocols under physician direction and support administrative and operational projects as needed
  • \n
  • Train to perform a select, specifically defined group of treatments using advanced lasers, energy-based technologies, and other innovative devices, as designated and delegated by the physician and consistent with applicable law and practice policy
  • \n
  • Perform only those clinical tasks and procedures expressly assigned or delegated by the physician, within the RN’s lawful scope of practice and demonstrated competency
  • \n
  • Recognize the limits of the RN role and seek physician guidance whenever a clinical issue falls outside established instructions or protocols
  • \n
  • Remain equally engaged in procedural assistance, nursing responsibilities, room turnover, and operational support regardless of whether delegated treatments are scheduled
  • \n
  • Deliver attentive, highly personalized care while anticipating patient needs and maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
  • \n
  • Protect patient privacy and exercise exceptional discretion when caring for high-profile or privacy-sensitive patients
  • \n
  • Help maintain a polished, calm, and seamless patient experience consistent with the standards of a high-end private practice
  • \n
\n

Qualifications

\n
    \n
  • Active, unrestricted New York State RN license in good standing
  • \n
  • BLS certification required
  • \n
  • Minimum two years of nursing experience, preferably in dermatology, aesthetics, plastic surgery, procedural medicine, or a related private practice setting
  • \n
  • Experience caring for a discerning clientele in a high-end dermatology, plastic surgery, cosmetic medicine, concierge medical, or comparable luxury-service environment strongly preferred
  • \n
  • Familiarity with dermatologic procedures, cosmetic treatments, and EMR systems
  • \n
  • Comfort with injections, sterile technique, and procedural assistance
  • \n
  • Excellent clinical judgment, organizational, and communication skills
  • \n
  • Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented
  • \n
  • Polished, composed, warm, and highly discreet
  • \n
  • Exceptional attention to the details that shape the patient experience
  • \n
  • Demonstrated respect for physician oversight, clinical boundaries, and established chains of responsibility
  • \n
  • Comfort working in a role centered on assisting the physician and supporting the complete clinical workflow—not primarily performing cosmetic procedures
  • \n
  • Willingness to perform hands-on operational duties, including cleaning, preparing, and restocking rooms
  • \n
  • Minimum one-year commitment required; two years strongly preferred
  • \n
\n

Ideal Candidate

\n
    \n
  • Driven by excellent patient care and a long-term career in physician-led dermatology
  • \n
  • Intellectually curious and eager to learn
  • \n
  • Humble, hardworking, and team-oriented
  • \n
  • Receptive to direction and meticulous about following assigned tasks and established protocols
  • \n
  • Exercises sound judgment without acting beyond delegated authority or independently diagnosing, prescribing, or establishing treatment plans
  • \n
  • Is excited to develop deep expertise in a carefully selected group of advanced technologies while understanding that the role is not designed as a pathway to injectable treatments or unrestricted procedural practice
  • \n
  • Finds professional satisfaction in excellent nursing care, patient support, procedural assistance, and smooth clinical operations
  • \n
  • Takes initiative and thrives in a fast-paced environment with varied responsibilities
  • \n
  • Exceptionally organized and reliable
  • \n
  • Understands the expectations of a sophisticated, service-oriented clientele and provides warm, attentive care while maintaining professional boundaries
  • \n
  • Notices and addresses small details before they affect the patient experience
  • \n
  • Enjoys working closely with patients and a small team
  • \n
  • Is excited to help build a practice from the ground up while remaining flexible about the balance of nursing, assisting, procedural, and operational responsibilities
  • \n
\n

Position Details

\n
    \n
  • Part-time position, minimum 2 days/week.
  • \n
  • Financial District, New York City
  • \n
  • $40-50/hr to start, with a potential increase based on performance
  • \n
  • Please send CV with references and cover letter and tell us why you're interested in this role to careers@monographnyc.com
